Watch Chef Greg Make Masa with Grandma Ann's
-
MINUTES, NOT HOURS
Prepare large batches of fresh ingredients dramatically faster than grating by hand.
-
AUTHENTIC GRATED TEXTURE
Grates fresh ingredients instead of turning them into a blender-style puree.
-
BUILT FOR FAMILY RECIPES
From pasteles and cassava to coconut, potatoes and more.

A Grater, Not a Blender
A blender cuts and pulverizes ingredients.
Grandma Ann's physically grates fresh ingredients to preserve the grated texture traditional recipes depend on.

What to Expect When Grating
-
A Small Remnant Is Normal
Because the pusher stops just above the grating drum for safety, a small remnant can remain at the end of an ingredient — especially with irregularly shaped foods. Using the Stack & Push technique helps minimize it.
-
Some Warmth Is Normal
During longer preparation, some warmth near the motor is normal. Start the machine empty, keep food moving through it, and avoid unnecessary idle running.
-
Easy Cleanup & Real Support
The bowl, blade and hopper are dishwasher-safe. Every machine includes a 1-year warranty and support from our family business.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it slice?
No. Grandma Ann's grates and shreds fresh ingredients with its electric grating system — it does not slice.
Which blade comes with the machine?
The Regular Grating Blade is included with every Grandma Ann's Electric Grater.
Which blade should I use for pasteles?
Use the Regular Grating Blade — the one included. It's what we recommend for traditional Puerto Rican pasteles and alcapurrias masa, including the yuca/cassava.
Can it grate coconut?
Yes. The Regular Blade grates fresh coconut with a traditional grated texture. The optional Fine Grating Blade produces a finer coconut texture if that's what your recipe calls for.
Can I make coconut milk with the grated coconut?
Yes. Freshly grated coconut can be pressed or blended with water and strained to make coconut milk or cream, following your usual recipe.
Why can a small piece remain?
The pusher intentionally stops just above the grating drum for safety. If you feed one isolated piece and stop, a small final piece can remain. Feeding pieces continuously (Stack & Push) minimizes this.
What is Stack & Push?
It's the simple feeding rhythm: start the machine empty, stack pieces so the next one follows the last, keep steady pressure on the pusher, and keep feeding. Continuous feeding helps push each piece through the grating drum.
Is it dishwasher-safe?
The removable bowl, grating blade and hopper are dishwasher-safe. Wipe down the motor base — do not immerse it.
Does the machine get warm?
Some warmth near the motor during longer sessions is normal. Start the machine empty, keep ingredients feeding while you grate, and switch it off when you're finished.
What voltage do I need?
Choose the USA & Canada (110–120V) variant for North America, or the International (220–240V) variant for regions on 220–240V power. Both are the same machine.
What is the warranty?
Every Grandma Ann's Electric Grater includes a one-year warranty. Replacement parts and repair support are available, and help is available from our family-run support team.
Can I grate potatoes?
Yes. Grandma Ann's grates potatoes for dishes like kugelis, potato pancakes and hash browns.
How fast is it?
In one demonstrated example, roughly 25 lb of green bananas plus 3 lb of yautía, 1 lb of calabaza and two plantains were grated in under about 5 minutes. This is a demonstrated example, not a guarantee — individual results will vary with technique, ingredients and batch size.
Is this for home or small commercial preparation?
Grandma Ann's is built for large-batch home food preparation, and many customers also use it for small-batch commercial preparation. It isn't designed for continuous industrial production.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Choose the International (220–240V) variant at checkout for regions on 220–240V power.
